We Are People Powered.

We Are a Movement.

We Are Movimiento Poder.

Our Vision

Movimiento Poder is building a world where first-generation, migrante, women, and queer Latines can thrive, live with a sense of belonging, have enough abundance to keep each other safe, and build collective power to liberate themselves and their communities from all systems of oppression.

Our Mission

Movimiento Poder strives to reimagine and transform our society through collective healing, transformational leadership development, community wealth-building, civic engagement, and community organizing.

What we do

Nuestra Riqueza

Movimiento Poder believes that the well-being of each and everyone of us is undoubtedly linked to the prosperity of all of us. Movimiento Poder works to build resilient foundations that not only meet current needs but also ensure a legacy of care for future generations.

=
Nuestra Alma

At Movimiento Poder, we are firm believers in the power of love as a key driver of transformative change. Deeply rooted in our history and community, Movimiento Poder works to foster a community that thrives on amor, resilience and the shared strength of our interconnected roots to gain collective power.

=
Nuestro Voto

Our government works best when it includes all of us. Movimiento Poder serves as a point of convergence and a power-building vessel for young people, migrantes, women, and the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado to not only shape our collective vision but also gain the power to turn it into reality.

=
Nuestra Voz

The most powerful and impactful movements for change are powered by people from the ground up. Movimiento Poder works to empower and center the voices of working-class Latine immigrants, youth, women, families and queer folks to foster a world where we all belong, thrive, and have the ability to shape our futures.

Rolling Back Equity: A Response to Denver Public Schools’ Proposed Reinstatement of School Resource Officers

May 2023

June 11, 2020 was a monumental day for racial justice in Denver. In fact, it may have been the most significant advance in racial equity within the city’s education system in decades. By unanimously voting to remove all school resource officers (SROs) from Denver Public Schools (DPS) and address the many ways in which students are criminalized, the school board took an enormous step in addressing the systemic racism facing BIPOC students. Nevertheless, it took less than three years for DPS to attempt to reverse back this historic racial justice victory.
